Whistler Summer Camp Wrap Up

Whistler Summer Snowboard Camp sessions have now wrapped up for the 2013 season and it was one of our best summers on the glacier yet. Three busy weeks in June & July were filled with camp fires, hot tubs, biking, yoga, golfing, trampoline sessions, bungee jumping, talent shows, smores, and of course snowboarding!

Camp kicked off in late June with campers flying in from all over the world to shred in the summer. There was an overwhelmingly positive response to our private summer terrain park - designed and built by the amazing Warren Williams. Fun lines for everyone included a variety of beginner boxes, rails and jumps for campers who were new to the park and a large jump line to wall ride and turbo tube for the more advanced park riders.

Freestyle Snowboard Camp in Whistler - By Russell Timmins

Camper Rusell Timmins came out for a 6 week Pro Ride Freestyle camp that extended to 10 weeks last season and wrote about his season long exeprience with us in Whistler.

Russell Timmins - 10 week camper

I had been snowboarding for about 10 ten years, mostly in NZ but had made the trip north to Canada twice before and loved the big mountains and the soft snow.

After a few years I couldn’t find the time to get anywhere near the snow so I decided enough was enough and looked into getting lessons or even better doing a camp. After a quick search on the net I found Pro Ride. Before I knew it I was on a plane flying north and super excited to be heading to whistler again.

Vancouver Trip

Sometimes you have to leave the winter wonderland of Whistler and see something new.
The Pro Ride crew took a day to go explore Vancouver and see what the city had to offer. It was a nice break from the riggers of Whistler life, but everyone's happy to be back in the mountains again.

Blackcomb Opens!

November 24th and Blackcomb mountain opens. The snow's building up here in Whistler and there's lots of exploring to do on both mountains. Rails, jumps, and pipes are being built in the parks, and it's looking like another big winter.

Here's Pro Ride coach Lisa smashing pow lines on Blackcomb's first day.
