Travis Rice once again made history on February 4th, winning the first Redbull Supernatural. A contest like this has never been held before, and will change all contests forever. The Supernatural combined everything that goes into a professional snowboard video part, and put it all into one 2 minute run. The course which was built at Baldface lodge, above Nelson BC, is like nothing you've ever seen before. Starting out with a man made big mountain pillow section, then heading into a 100ft X-games style big air jump with a pow landing, then finishing off with a jib garden.
Shaun White has once again made X Games history with a run which earned him a perfect 100 score. Shaun had already taken the gold but still let it all hang out during his victory lap. With huge amplitude all the way down and back to back double mctwist 12 to fs double cork 12 there's no arguing with the judges on this one.
Mark McMorris took gold in both the big air and the slopestyle in this year's winter X-Games. McMorris beat out Seppe Smitts, Eric Willet, Seb Toots, and Torstien Horgmo in the finals to take the top spot in the big air. The big air finals saw the first triple corks in competition by McMorris and Torstien, but McMorris's constancy beat Torstien's almost flawless last jumps. In the slope McMorris came out a head of Sage Kotsenburg (second) and Peetu Piironinen (third) with his smooth relaxed style taking him all the way to a bs 12 off the money booter at the end.

Torstien's perfect BS triple cork, but not enough to beat out Mark McMorris' consistent performance.

Whistler Blackcomb has just been named Best Ski Resort in the World and we certainly know why. With the largest ski terrain of any resort there is everything you could possibly want from steeps, trees, terrain parks, half pipes and groomers. With an above average snowfall for Whistler this predicted this year due to a La Nina weather cycle, we certainly have an epic season in store for us.
