AST Level 1 Course

The AST-1 course introduces you to the fundamentals crucial to safe travel in the backcountry. The course is available most weekends during the months of December through until March each year and includes pre-trip planning, snowpack and avalanche hazard assessment, terrain selection and avalanche rescue skills. The course involves an indoor theory day and a backcountry field day in Whistler.

This course is available to add on to most camps longer than 2 weeks during the months of December - March each year. Choose this option on our booking form and we will send more detailed information and availability for the dates of your program.
