It’s opening day at Whistler Blackcomb! Temps have dropped and WB is cranking up the snow guns. With snow in the forecast more terrain will be opening every day.

Pro Ride kicks off the first week of Camp December 7^th, and we are stoked to see you all soon!

After Whistler Mountain opening its slopes to guests an astonishing thirteen days early this year, today marks the resort’s official American Thanksgiving opening. Similar to the Whistler Mountain opening day on November 16th, eager skiers and snowboarders lined up in Whistler Village during the early hours of the morning for the opening of the Blackcomb Gondola. With plenty of untouched terrain to be explored on Blackcomb Mountain and promising snow forecasts for the next few days, this Thanksgiving weekend is bound to be another epic season opener!

Its Official, Whistler is now open for the 2013-14 winter season.

Excitement has been in the air the last week with rumours that Whistler would be opening, and on Saturday Nov 16th the mountain opened its slopes an astonishing thirteen days before the official November 28th opening date. Eager skiers and snowboarders set up camp at both the Whistler Village and the Creekside Gondolas to try their luck at catching the first ride to the top. With others joining the queue throughout the early hours of the morning, people stood in line with high spirits, sharing opening day stories and celebratory drinks. One keen bunch of riders went as far as setting up camp in the middle of the line cooking pancakes, bacon and eggs to get ready for their first day.

Due to cool temperatures, impressive snowmaking and natural snowfall Whistler mountain will once again be opening early this year. With the opening day now taking place on Saturday, November 16, Whistler will be opening an astonishing thirteen days in advance of its original American Thanksgiving opening on Thursday, November 28.

Eager skiers and snowboarders will be able to upload from either the Whistler Village Gondola or the Creekside Gondola, and have the option of riding five operating lifts on the Whistler mountain. Park enthusiasts will also be able to make use of a few rail features at the top of Emerald chair.

Opening lifts and areas will be the Village Eight Express & Carpet, with Mitchel T-bar on standby.  A terrain park will be open on front valley with an Early Bird Park Jam Comp.

All Perishers proceeds from the ticket sales for the weekend will be donated to the local community, with the aim raising and surpassing 2011`s total of $25,000 for various charities.

The most anticipated day of the year around the Pro Ride office is Whistler's opening day. And it's finally here. November. 18th, 1 week earlier then planned. With Red chair hit runs, and the Green chair park going, the day couldn't have been better. Yay! to another amazing season.
