WSSF Intersection 2013
The WSSF (Whistler Ski And Snowboard Festival) Intersection competition is one of our favorite events of the festival. It gives teams 7 days to film, edit and produce a 5-7 minute long ski and snowboard movie. All the movies must include both skiing and snowboarding, they must be filmed within 100 km's of Whistler, and they must have some footage within Whistler Blackcomb's ski area boundaries. Here are the teams, and their submissions.
This is Leo Zuckerman's first time entering the WSSF Intersection competition, and he couldn't have been more excited about the out come. Leo took home both the $15,000 for best in show, and another $1000 for the People's Choice awards. Not bad for the UBC film students first appearance in the ski and snowboard film world.
Voleurz closed their doors this year, but brought the family together one last time to defend their two time winning streak at the Intersection competition. They went out on true Voleurz fashion with epic skiing and riding, witty humor, and a feeling of friendship and camaraderie.
Heart Films always brings a lot of heart into their movies. Most of the Heart Films crew are from Japan and you can see a deep appreciation for the mountains and their friends and family in everything they do. Pro Ride coach Duncan Mainland was invited to ride with the Heart Films crew for this project, see if you can spot him.
Nuu Life has been putting put bomber edits out of the Whistler area for a bunch of years now. This is their third year doing intersection and they always give the crowd a lot to cheer for. They haven't releases their submission yet, but here's a look at what's in store.
